Meet your facilitators

Abang Anade Othow is an educator, speaker, writer and leader. As well as being the founder of Buckets of Hope, Abang serves as the Deputy Chair of the Asylum Seekers Centre and was named National Ambassador for the NSW Department of Education and Refugee Council of Australia.

Her upcoming book, to be published by HarperCollins, draws on her life journey and introduces the Buckets of Hope method, offering a framework for resilience and hope. With a Master of Teaching, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Diploma in Business, Abang blends academic knowledge with lived experience to spark impact that resonates globally.

Dr. Ari Lander is a highly motivated and dedicated educator who has worked with school students, university students and adults. He has over 20 years of experience delivering educational programs. He is a dynamic and skilled educator with an excellent reputation who has developed education programs for schools, museums, teachers, and universities. His PhD was an oral history project and throughout his professional career he has remained dedicated to publicly interviewing Holocaust survivors, survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, Cambodian Genocide survivors and survivors of the Stolen/Kidnapped Generations.

Dr Lander was the Co- Founder and Education Manager of Kuma and Kwibuka: Listen and Remember. He was also the Education Manager of Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation and was an Education Officer at the Sydney Jewish Museum.

Together, Abang and Ari offer a compassionate, credible space for reflection and transformation.
